University of Cambridge: WYNG Philomathia Essay Competition (F4 & F5 students)
The WYNG Philomathia Student Essay Competition is a highly selective competition in partnership with Cambridge University. Five winners are chosen for a one-week all- expenses- paid trip to Cambridge Trinity Hall to experience life as a Cambridge student. Perhaps the most important aspect of the prize is the chance to meet with professors and admission tutors from Trinity Hall. For Form 5 Oxbridge hopefuls, this would be an invaluable experience in the application process. St. Paul’s Co-ed has previously been represented by WONG Sum Yi Nikki, LAI Ching Yee Jamie and Faith Yeung.

Royal Economic Society Essay Competition
In 2016, SPCC was represented by student Jason Lo who wrote on whether or not "sharing economies" should be government regulated. Though Jason did not win the essay competition, the prep work was instrumental to Jason receiving an offer from Cambridge University to read Economics. In doing university level research, Jason built up his knowledge on economics in an astonishing way that made his application stand out amongst the rest.
